Lexitas is seeking a highly motivated Fund Finance Lawyer with 5+ years of experience to work with one of our financial services clients in their legal department. This will be a 6 month interim engagement with the possibility of extension. The candidate must be available to work a full-time, hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days a week in the NYC office.

Key Responsibilities:
- Providing legal guidance and expertise to the investment management business throughout Europe, specifically although not limited to the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg.
- Negotiating and drafting documents and contracts.
- Instructing and liaising with external counsel, as required.
- Advising the investment management business on key legal/regulatory issues.
- Participation in projects and the development of operational processes.
- Liaising with business representatives and legal/compliance colleagues and other control functions (e.g. credit, tax etc) in EMEA and globally (US and Asia).
- Ability to be on site in New York City.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience ideally with a top law firm or equivalent experience as a lawyer obtained in private practice or in-house.
- JD and active NY law license required.
- Strong background in traditional and alternative funds.
- Ability to understand the business needs and partner with the business to create solutions.
- Strong understanding of the interplay between legal and business risk.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients.
- Background in providing legal services to operational intensive businesses is preferable.
