TXCPA Austin Accounting & Finance Leaders Conference 2023

The TXCPA Austin Accounting & Finance Leaders Conference, formerly the CFO/Controllers Conference, is an exciting event attracting financial decision-makers (CPAs and non-CPAs) from a broad range of companies and organizations throughout Texas. The conference is organized to cover the hottest topics in fast-paced, interactive sessions and it is one of the most highly rated events by attendees every year, and we are going hybrid this year!

For the first time the Accounting and Finance Leaders Conference will be offered both in-person and virtually for attendees! Attendees have the option to attend the conference in-person at UT Commons Conference Center or can connect online from their office or the comfort of their own home.

11:20 am: Federal Tax Controversy Hot Topics: The Latest IRS Developments for Accounting and Finance Leaderspresented by Christi Mondrik, CPA, Esq., TBLS Certified – Tax Law, Principal Attorney, Mondrik & Associates
The IRS has received additional funding and hired more staff. Treasury has amended regulations for partnership audits and other proceedings. This session should address issues accounting and finance leaders need to bear in mind while preparing for IRS audits and examinations.

In this hands on session, you will learn how to build basic dashboards in Microsoft Power BI. This session will provide an overview of the software and how it compares to other data visualization tools. Then, we’ll dive into the hands on portion where you will learn how to import data, clean and format data, and create basic visualizations. Bring your Windows-based laptop and be prepared for a fun session!
