Lexitas Chief Innovation Officer Discusses How AI Streamlines Deposition Analysis

Thanks to AI, legal processes that used to take hours can now take minutes. Much of the work of attorneys and paralegals was traditionally bogged down by painstaking manual review of documentation, but AI-powered technology can analyze complex information and offer strategic insights. In this new landscape, the process of deposition analysis has completely transformed.

Lexitas Chief Innovation Officer Jason Primuth recently discussed the impact of AI on deposition review in an article in The AI Journal. He notes that clients are increasingly unwilling to pay for billable hours spent on manual tasks that could be handled by AI and highlights various capabilities that have emerged due to recent advances.

Thanks to developments in natural language processing (NLP), semantic search, and multimodal AI, new technologies can summarize depositions, understand the nuances behind queries, identify inconsistencies in statements, generate timelines based on statements, and analyze the behavior of a witness. These tools are becoming increasingly user-friendly, allowing legal professionals to shift their focus from administrative tasks to strategy and client advocacy. Thanks to AI, lawyers can concentrate on human-centered tasks and deliver services more efficiently than ever.
